Sony cancels the sale of its home theater projectors throughout Europe.

Sony has confirmed the suspension of its video projectors on the European continent.

The consumer tech brand is pulling its home cinema projectors from sale in Europe, including the UK, once current stock comes to an end.

In an official statement, Sony explained new European regulations and restrictions influenced the decision.

Sony said: “To ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, including recent European export control regulations and trade restrictions, we have made the inevitable decision to discontinue sales of Sony projectors in Europe, once current stock is depleted.

“We remain committed to compliance with applicable laws and regulations and responsible business practices and are working closely with our business partners to ensure a smooth transition”.

The move will see Sony continue to supply home cinema projectors in countries “other than the European market” unless the situation changes, including further legal prohibition or restrictions.
