Lionsgate acquired “eOne” from Hasbro, expanding its content library by 6500 titles.
Lionsgate officially completed its acquisition of Entertainment One (eOne) from Hasbro on December 27, with a total transaction value of $375 million. As part of the deal, Lionsgate also took on the responsibility of production financing loans. It’s worth noting that Hasbro had originally acquired eOne in 2019 for a substantial amount of $4 billion.
In addition to the acquisition, Entertainment One (eOne) brings with it the production of ABC’s “The Rookie,” the well-received Showtime series “Yellowjackets,” and the Discovery unscripted series “Naked & Afraid.” Moreover, the transaction encompasses film development rights for Hasbro’s iconic Monopoly brand. This acquisition broadens Lionsgate’s portfolio in the entertainment industry, encompassing a diverse range of television series and film development opportunities.
Congratulations Lionsgate!
